Our Kotahitanga students take part in a variety of leadership, sporting and learning opportunities throughout the year. Students being challenged, having fun, having agency of their learning and working in a collaborative manner are at the forefront of what we do.
This is an action packed term with a variety of learning and sporting opportunities available to our students. Students will also have a focus on reflecting on their own learning, through identifying their next learning steps in relation to 3-Way Learning Conferences at the end of the term.
We will continue to celebrate our cultural diversity at CGS through Samoan Language Week and Matariki Week. As part of our Matariki Week celebrations students will be participating in a StarLab session where they will be learning about this special event on the Maori calendar.
Our STEAM programme continues to move from strength to strength as classes branch off into different areas of study. From eating bugs to flying rockets, our students are being exposed to a variety of exciting new learning experiences.
Our school is part of developing Engineering New Zealand’s new Rocket League Programme in association with Rocket Lab Ltd., a programme that will be rolled out in 2019 to schools across New Zealand.
