Principal’s Message

Welcome to Conifer Grove School.

We have an action-packed Term with many activities including; Rangatahi Festival on the 26th October where the Conifer Grove Band, Junior, and Senior Kapa Haka groups will be performing. Our Teams, Timata, Haemata, Whanake and Kotahitanga are involved in many activities including; trip to Butterfly Creek, cycle safety, beach education and a number of summer sports events (Athletics, Touch Rugby, Volleyball) and not to mention the much anticipated Kotahitanga Camp

I ask that we all get behind “The Cultural Festival” one of the highlights of the school calendar on the Saturday the 25th November, your support for this event will be hugely appreciated with the proceeds directly helping our students with resourcing to enhance their learning. This is a Term where we celebrate excellence with a number of prize givings, we welcome you to join us in celebrating your children’s achievements.

With approximately 530 students, Years 1—8, and 44 staff including Teachers, Administration, Support Staff and Learning Assistants we place a large emphasis on our School values of Respect (Whakamiha), Responsibility (Mana Motuhake), Honesty (Matatika), Caring (Manaaki) and Excellence (Hiranga). These values play an important part of the culture for learning that we have here at Conifer Grove School.

We place a strong emphasis on creating well-rounded individuals who experience the breadth of the Curriculum while still placing an emphasis on the fundamentals of Reading, Writing, and Mathematics. We still believe in enhancing student learning through The Arts, Sciences, Social Studies, Technology and ICT, Health and Physical Education and Second Language (Year 7 & 8). Students also have opportunities to be involved in Kapa Haka, Pasifika, Choir, Band, various other musical groups and sports teams.

At Conifer Grove School we place high expectations for learning and behaviour. We believe that the school values through Positive Behaviour for Learning (PB4L) help students to be well equipped to be active contributing members of their community and also globally.

We believe our students can all be the best they can be, that they can all strive for excellence and that it is our role to encourage, inspire and foster a lifetime of learning, where they can realise their potential. We place a strong emphasis on continuous improvement and endeavour to be the best school for our students. We look forward to your support and working together towards positive teaching and learning for all.

“Success For All”
