September 15th 2021 – Alert Level 3
Tēna Koutou Katoa,
Kia ora Whanau, our Prime Minister announced this week that Tamaki Makaurau (Auckland) remains at Alert Level 4 until the 21st September. Whilst this news is disappointing there might be light at the end of the tunnel with cabinet indicating a move to Alert Level 3, in principle.
Conifer Grove School will be open for those students who MUST be at school. At Alert Level 3 the key message from the Ministries of Education and Health is clear. SCHOOL IS CLOSED, except for those children who do not have any alternative supervision – Delta is different.
This means if older siblings (14 years +) are able to supervise – children are to stay home. If parents are working or studying from home – children are to stay home. If you can extend our bubble to include someone who is able to supervise your child, please do so. We are trying to keep our school bubble as small as possible for the safety of teachers, students and their whānau.
If you are unable to provide supervision for your child and want them to attend school from Wednesday 22nd September, you must inform the School via this google form link.
This form MUST be completed by the end of Friday 17th so we can prepare as a school. Please note, we will not accept any students if this form has not been filled out.
This is due to the strict Health and safety precautions that we must adhere to. These students will need to be at the back gate at Walter Strevens Drive Hall entrance at 9 am. Please note there will be no staff at the school prior to this time so the earliest students will be able to attend will be 8:55am. Under Alert Level 3, no other students, adults or visitors are permitted on the school site.
Our staff will continue online learning for those students who remain at home in their bubbles. We will organise hard packs for whanau to collect contactlessly on Wednesday 22nd September from 12 pm (afternoon) from the back gate Walter Strevens Drive Hall entrance with contactless pick under the canopy. More information will be sent out early next week on hard packs.
Vaccination of staff: Although teachers have been given priority for vaccination for the Ministry of Health it is important to note that this is not a mandatory requirement. We have this information to us but must also respect the confidentiality of our employees. We ensure that we will be following the Ministries of Health and Education guidelines under Alert Levels 3 and 2.
The school admin will remain in communication with our community through our emails, Skool Loop app, School website as further advice is received from the Ministries of Health and Education.
If you have any worries about your health or the health of your family, please call Healthline on 0800 358 5453 or visit www.COVID-19.govt.nz.
Stay Safe everyone
Raj Dullabh – Principal
