I would like to personally thank you for your support while we conduct these practices and for respecting our procedures for emergency response.
Kind regards – Raj Dullabh, Principal

Thank you to our community for their overwhelming generosity to our recent mufti day with $1269 raised to help the the family. Mr Dullabh, Mr Hussein, Sophie and Seth visited Dad yesterday. Dad was amazed by our generosity and well wishes.
A reminder a vigil will be held this evening at 6pm at Evanda Cres School Gates. You are welcome to attend and bring flowers, cards, etc if you wish.
The school will be holding a Mufti Day this Friday 22nd March, wear something colourful, with all donations to help support the families and Muslim communities affected by the tragic event last Friday.
In the wake of the tragic events from Friday in Christchurch our thoughts go out the those affected. We feel it is important to inform you of the week ahead. We will look to keep the days as normal as possible, so students can be back to normal routines so they will feel safe and secure. Later in the week, the school will look to have a mufti day with proceeds going to support the people affected.
Many of our students will know of the event and students will deal with this in many different ways. Teachers will not be bringing up the subject in class. However, if any questions may arise at school, teachers will be using the Ministry of Education Guidelines and responding age appropriately to their questions. Whilst not shutting students down we will avoid full class discussions.
We have attached the guidelines from the Ministry and other helpful resources from EAP services. below are some articles and supporting material if you wish to talk to your children.

The school does have a Lockdown Procedure and if the school should go into lockdown, parents will be informed by the school website, school app and email if possible. The notification will provide relevant instructions at the time.
Thank you for working with us as we hope to keep things as normal as possible for our students.
